VirtualZones privacy: every network request listed

VirtualZones has no telemetry, no analytics, no ads and no account. This page lists every network request the app makes, so you can verify that for yourself or allow it through a firewall.

All requests use HTTPS (port 443) through Windows’ built-in WinHTTP, and they follow your system proxy settings.

When Where What is sent Why
Every launch raw.githubusercontent.com (languages.json) A standard HTTPS request only (your IP address and the app’s user agent) Get the list of available UI languages
Every launch if your language isn’t English, and when you choose a language raw.githubusercontent.com (the .lang file) Same as above Download or refresh the translation
At launch and about every 24 h (not in Microsoft Store builds) api.github.com (latest release), then GitHub’s release download servers Same as above Check for updates
When you accept an update, or automatically if Update automatically is on GitHub release download servers Same as above Download the installer
When you click Activate api.lemonsqueezy.com Your license key and your PC’s computer name (so you can recognize the device in your Lemon Squeezy order page) Activate the license
About every 14 days while licensed api.lemonsqueezy.com License key and activation ID Confirm the license is still valid
When you click Deactivate api.lemonsqueezy.com License key and activation ID Free this PC’s activation

Buy License, the website link and Contact me simply open your browser or email app. VirtualZones itself sends nothing.

To block all of this, block VirtualZones.exe in your firewall. Everything except language downloads, updates and license activation keeps working. A license stays valid offline for up to 30 days since it was last checked.

  • Your settings, layouts and hotkeys (settings.json).
  • Your license record, encrypted with Windows DPAPI (license.dat).
  • Your usage counter (the “Used N times” line in About). It is never sent anywhere.
  • The diagnostic log in %TEMP%. It never contains your license key, and it’s only shared if you attach it to a bug report yourself.
